Saquarema, Brazil
We’re in Brazil for the Saquarema Pro. Waves for the first day too small, swell predictions for later in the week looks good. (Scored the photos from the contest site and internet)
Dawn Patrol
Went for an early morning surf at Margaret River with some of the other Saffa’s (Royden, Brandon and Travis). The waves were really good. Everyone got a couple and exited the water with smiles. I really hope it stays similar for the contest. And if it doesn’t, at least we scored it for a while…….
Hang Loose Pro, Brazil
We are in Brazil for the WQS 6*Prime “Hange Loose Pro” on the island of Fernando de Noronha in Brazil. It’s always been a good hunting ground for the Saffa’s with Warwick Wright winning it a few years ago. Myself and Travis are still fighting in the quaterfinals on different sides of the draw and hopefully we can hang in there and meet in the final – that would be cool……
France….. Oh, France.
Our main man Kevin Olsen who lives and runs his surfschool in France. He’s been taking us to the funnest banks…. Always good to have someone who knows the area.
Our (Kevin’s) spot for the week……
Rudy Palmboom, who’s actually in France with Fox, but we’ve been bumping into him pretty regularly.
The war bunkers at Capbreton Beach.

Beautiful scenes of Hossegor…….
pantin, spain
Had a surf with Ricky, Royden and Chad the other day. It was rainy and the light was really bad, therefore only 2 shots were usable……
saffa’s go seeking…..
A few of the South African boys went and checked a point a little bit south of the main break here at Arugam Bay. The waves were a bit dissmal, but it was still fun to surf with all the guys…..

Lord Royden Bryson…. Well what can I say? The guy deserved to be a Lord after his performance today. He had being getting the job done all week, making heat after heat, leaving his best for last. A 16.60 semi-final heatscore and a 14 in the final. He sat for roughly 26 minutes, a heat restart included after 10 minutes with no waves, before opening his account with a massive 8.67 in the deteriorating conditions. From there on out he was in the drivers seat and the next thing he knew he was on the shoulders of Dave Weare and Brandon Jackson and being awarded surfing’s coolest trophy soon after. Oh he won land in the Scottish Highlands so he is officially a Lord, jokes aside. I’m really proud of the guy and that I am on speaking terms with a Lord….. Congrats Roy!!
