Good memories, many moons ago, my first boat trip, for Jason Hearn’s movie “15 Below”, frothing groms. Dale and Dane Staples, James and Thomas Woods, Nick Godfrey, Brendon Gibbens, Mickey February and Matt Bromley – good friends -miss them – sadly I don’t see enough of them anymore…

Red Bull x Jordy Smith Nighshift at Northbeach. Flood lights were set up and all the boys were getting whipped in at night. It was pretty crazy to surf in front of such a huge crowd at nigh! Hope I get the chance to do it again next year. Pics by Kolesky.
Last, but not least the Mr Price Pro is on at Ballito. They have only done 9 heats of Rd1 so far, but hopefully the waves pick up and we can get amongst it!!
Hawaii
Late season Hawaii is the best! We have had constant waves for about 6 days now. Although there is a huge swell coming. Like 20/25 feet huge. I’m kinda fearing. It’s been nice to see everyone after the break and catch up with friends from all over the world. We really do have the best job in the world!
Thanksgiving
The American’s love a holiday, and Thanksgiving is their favourite. The day is all about relaxing with friends and family, eating amazing food and of course, giving thanks. It was a sick day, because we relaxed with friends, had a huge feast, gave thanks, had a good time, and had some good waves!

Went to Cape Town for a day and hung out with bromdogsblog. Had some fun waves and watched Kelly win Trestles. Good times!

This was about a month ago towards the end of a swell when the onshore came up. It’s always fun when it goes onshore towards the end of the swell, because people don’t like onshore or are surfed out and over it. Plus the wave becomes very rippable. The top 2 photo’s are Adin Jeenes and then me……
Dawn Patrol
Went for an early morning surf at Margaret River with some of the other Saffa’s (Royden, Brandon and Travis). The waves were really good. Everyone got a couple and exited the water with smiles. I really hope it stays similar for the contest. And if it doesn’t, at least we scored it for a while…….
Hang Loose Pro, Brazil
We are in Brazil for the WQS 6*Prime “Hange Loose Pro” on the island of Fernando de Noronha in Brazil. It’s always been a good hunting ground for the Saffa’s with Warwick Wright winning it a few years ago. Myself and Travis are still fighting in the quaterfinals on different sides of the draw and hopefully we can hang in there and meet in the final – that would be cool……

Dooma lives in the US now and has gone full-on Hollywood…..or paparazzi….or whatever…..apart from being a pro surfer he also does the “skindernuus” of the tour. Check out his blog Dooma’s Rumours.
greg emslie does it again…..
Well what can I say about Greg Emslie. He has won another contest…. If he wasn’t such an absolute legend I would’ve been over him winning almost every contest he has entered this year (3 out of 4). I couldn’t think of a more deserving winner of the O’niell CWC Cape Town. He had the hardest half of the draw and dominated every heat. His trophy looks amazing too!! I’m kinda jealous of that thing….. I was happy with my 5th finish, although I felt I should’ve made my heat, catching a wave with seconds to spare and not being counted for “standing up after the siren”. Whatever… Well done Emmo’s!!!!!

where to now?
The year is halfway through….. So it’s almost like starting over…. There is a grueling schedule ahead, but I’m ready and exited! New goals are being set after the mid-year cut-off, some people’s expectations have risen, while others have lost some hope…. I just want to carry one having fun……

I really like Ozzy Osbourne. He dropped a new album recently called Scream, which I really enjoy. MTV made my day the other day by playing his single Let Me Hear You Scream on the Rock Chart.
This is almost the most excitement since the Billabong Pro ended, Jordy and his crew pulled in for the night, but have left again, because there are no waves.
