Code Red: Zarautz, Spain

Typhoon “Jacomina Hendriena” slammed into the Zarautz coastline and forced organizers of the San Miguel Pro to put the contest on hold. Lefts, rights and “fat lips” exploded onto the beach. The tow-in session will not be broadcasted live – in fact, even that was cancelled !!!!
Lone paddle boarder stuck in the middle of the bay waiting for the rescue helicopter.
Goodbye Australia….. I’m going home…..
Me questioning the conditions, turned out to be pretty fun…. Tasmania was fun. We had a camper van, so wherever we went, we were warm and had somewhere to make food ect. so it was pretty enjoyable to say the least. The waves were really good for our short stay, but I am so exited to go home. I’ve learnt a lot and met lots of interesting people in my two months abroad, but going home is just…. there’s no place like home is there!?
Ke Iki beach break
Trying to break my neck….definitely dodge…..but a lot of fun…..if you’re in need of a serious sand scrub, this is the place !!!
Still no go.
This is our spot on South Stradbroke island. It’s a pretty cool spot in the bush. The waves still haven’t got good enough for them to start the contest. They are probably going to start running tomorrow, the forecast looks good. I haven’t surfed a heat in ages so I’m exited to get back into it.
Getting there…..
Here is the crew, on our way to Morocco, at Starbucks in Madrid Airport on an 8 hour layover. The crew is myself, Rudy Palmboom, Frankie Oberholzer, Greg Ewing (photographer), Jason Hearn (videographer and creator of the Africa Project) and Craig Ritchie (writer) still to join us. Stay posted for some epic photo’s.
